Trains at Oldham Mumps

Some images of train at Oldham Mumps where once you could get direct services to Bolton, Preston, Blackpool, Barrow and Wigan! You could also get specials to any part of the national rail network as well as Wembley stadium. Oldham could have been part of the northern hub, with Rochdale being the required turn back point instead of Stalybridge. Unfortunately we got Metrolink.

The benefits of a railways station connected to a national network. 47503 has worked around the Oldham Loop collecting Oldham Athletic supporters to take them directly to Wembley stadium. You can't do that with a tram.
