Chadderton Goods Works "Diary"

A list of dates and workings that may be easier to read than the previous versions.

08675

Was this the last 08 to work the line? Was it possibly standing in for a failed train engine? It was usually worked in the morning by a main line engine so I'm not sure where 08675 worked from. It was possibly Middleton Junction or Castleton.

Is hybrid the way forward?
I was reviewing my personal finances recently, and I realised that a huge chunk of my income goes straight into my petrol tank. I've been hearing a lot about hybrid cars lately, and I wondered if it might be worth the investment. The problem is, I don't really know the first thing about hybrids.

I found a very useful article on hybrid cars at http://www.autocalculator.org, and if you're thinking of getting a hybrid then you should probably read this, too. It talks about the mechanics and technology, tells you how to drive a hybrid to maximise your fuel mileage and provides plenty of other useful information. The best thing is that it gives a balanced view, with the advantages and the disadvantages.

Build a website fast
A friend spoke to me about my website today. His father runs a doctor's surgery and wants to introduce himself to patients online. He wanted to know if I knew a way to put together a website quickly and simply, even if you've never done it before.

As I am asked these questions more and more often, here's the answer: yes, the Do-It-Yourself home page from 1&1 is also suitable for the self-employed and small businesses. This video from 1&1 provides a good explanation.
